Juventus start a new era in club’s history with the match against Parma, set to be played on Juventus Arena.

Following numerous disappointments over the years, everybody at the club, as well as the fans, believe this will be a real breakthrough season for the Bianconeri, meaning that Antonio Conte’s men need to hit the ground running early on if they are to meet very high expectations.

The club chiefs have done brilliantly to reinforce the squad over the summer, signing players like Vidal, Vucinic, Elia and Pirlo, to name just a few, and now it’s up to Antonio Conte to integrate them into the side as quickly as possible.

Juventus have experienced certain problems in pre-season, but they are still rated as hot favourites in the clash with Parma, with odds of 1.44 (4/9) offered on home win at Ladbrokes reflecting that.

Boss Antonio Conte has several doubts regarding the starting line-up, with Barzagli and Bonucci fighting for one place in defence, and Arturo Vidal and Claudio Marchisio vying for a chance to play alongside Andrea Pirlo in the centre of the park.

Milos Krasic should start on the right wing after recovering from injury, but Mirko Vucinic and Vincenzo Iaquinta remain sidelined.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Buffon – Lichtsteiner, Barzagli, Chiellini, De Ceglie – Krasic, Pirlo, Marchisio, Giaccherini – Matri, Del Piero.

Despite spending big part of the previous league campaign involved in the relegation battle, Parma showed on numerous occasions that they don’t really belong there.

The club management did well to sign several very experienced players this summer, thus making sure Ducali remain very competitive, so everyone at the club are hoping for a mid table finish.

Besides tying down Sebastian Giovinco to a long-term contract, Parma bought Manuele Blasi and Graziano Pelle, while acquiring Jonathan Biabiany, Fabiano Santacrocce and Sergio Floccari on loan deals.

Franco Colomba faces certain selection problems before the trip to Turin as Sergio Floccari is a doubt with a muscle problem, whereas Gobbi, Palladino, Valdes and Danilo Pereira are out.

Recent reports suggest that strikers Hernan Crespo and Jonathan Biabiany will be left on the bench, so odds of 2.00 (1/1) offered by Paddy Power on Juventus to keep a clean sheet do look tempting.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Mirante – Zaccardo, Paletta, Lucarelli, Rubin – Valiani, Morrone, Galloppa, Modesto – Giovinco, Pelle.
