Fiorentina vs Udinese preview

Fiorentina have nothing to play for but pride, whereas Udinese sit just outside the Champions League places and they will be very motivated to return to winning ways.

Fiorentina will be looking to forget this season as soon as possible and it looks that the squad is now playing for their jobs as club chiefs plan a major squad overhaul in the summer.

Viola have finally managed to show some improvement as they first held bitter rivals Juventus to a goalless draw before beating Cagliari away.

Sinisa Mihajlovic’s men now have a great chance to extend the good run against severely weakened Udinese and they are 2.50 (3/2) with 888Sport to claim maximum points at Artemio Franchi.

Apart from Stevan Jovetic and Mario Santana, Sinisa Mihajlovic will have fully fit squad to choose from.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Boruc – Comotto, Gamberini, Kroldrup, Pasqual – Behrami, Montolivo, Vargas – Cerci, Gilardino, Mutu.

Udinese have been largely impressive throughout the season but the latest poor run of results that saw them lose three out of last four games threatens to ruin their Champions League hopes.

The Friulani still sit just one point behind fourth-placed Lazio and are set to host the Biancocelesti next weekend, so maybe this is the right time to back Udinese to achieve a top 4 finish, at odds of 2.75 (7/4) offered by Betfair.

Udinese did lose their last two home games but they have beaten Napoli away, meaning the Friulani definitely stand a chance against indifferent Fiorentina.

Francesco Guidolin, however, faces a real selection headache and will be without four first team regulars.

Alexis Sanchez, Dusan Basta and Damiano Feronetti miss out through injury, whereas Gokhan Inler, Pablo Armero and Maurizio Domizzi are all suspended.

Probable starting line-up (3-5-2): Handanovic – Benatia, Zapata, Coda – Isla, Abdì, Pinzi, Asamoah, Pasquale – Denis, Di Natale.
