The penultimate round of Euro 2012 qualifying campaign not only served us a lot of excitement, but also saw England clinch their place at the final tournament and Montenegro claim one play-off berth.

Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Spain are also through, while Russia and Greece are on the verge of clinching automatic qualification.

A number of other national teams, however, will have to prove their worth in the final round to remain in contention for the place in Poland and Ukraine and here is the breakdown on the most interesting battles in all nine groups.

Group A

Belgium enter the final match in Germany one point clear of third-placed Turkey, and with Guus Hiddink’s side likely to beat Azerbaijan at home, the Belgians will probably need to beat Joachim Low’s side in order to make it to the play-offs.

Taking into account that Germany have won all qualifying games so far, that now looks like mission impossible. Turkey are 1.12 (3/25) with Betfair to win their final group game, whereas Belgium are 8.60 (38/5) to produce a major upset and win in Dusseldorf.

Group B

Russia need just one point at home to Andorra to clinch the first place in the group, whereas Republic of Ireland and Armenia are set to decide on the play-off place in Dublin, where the hosts need just one point to qualify. The Irish are 1.66 (2/3) with Betfair to win the game, with Armenia priced 6.00 (5/1) at Paddy Power.

Group C

After the 2:1 win in Northern Ireland, Estonia sit in second place one point clear of Serbia and boasting better head to head record over their rivals. This means that Serbia can only make it to the play-offs by beating Slovenia away in the final group game. Serbia are 2.00 (1/1) with Betfair to claim maximum points in Slovenia.

Group D

France enter the final group game one point clear of Bosnia-Hercegovina, the team that they are set to host in Paris. Les Bleus will remain at the top if they win or draw, whereas Bosnia-Hercegovina can clinch automatic qualification only if they win at Stade de France. Victor Chandler pays 1.50 (1/2) on home win, draw is quoted at 4.20 (16/5) and Bosnia are 6.50 (11/2).

Group E

Sweden have already secured their place in the play-offs, but they need a good result in Netherlands in order to make it to the final tournament as the best second-placed side. The hosts are 3.10 (21/10) with Unibet to emerge triumphant, whereas Oranje are 2.40 (7/5) with Paddy Power to keep their 100% record intact.

Group F

Greece made a giant step towards the place at the finals by beating Croatia at home last night, meaning they now need just one point from their game against Georgia to qualify. Greece are 1.66 (2/3) with Betfair to win in Georgia, with Croatia 1.14 (1/7) to beat Latvia at home.

Group G

Everything is clear here. The 2:2 draw in Montenegro last night meant that England qualified for the final tournament, whereas the hosts made it to the play-offs.

Group H

Denmark are Portugal will decide on the top two places in the group when they meet each other in Kobenhavn, but we could easily see both teams go through after this match, one as a first-placed team and one as the best second-placed side. Denmark need a victory in order to clinch the first place in the group with home win paying 3.10 (21/10) at Unibet, whereas Portugal are 2.62 (13/8) with Paddy Power to win at Parken.

Group I

If Scotland beat Liechtenstein today, they will move one point clear of Czech Republic, but will still have their work cut out for them. The Scots travel to Spain in the final round, whereas the Czechs are away to Lithuania, and they are the ones that will go through if the teams finish tied on points. The Czechs are 1.65 (13/20) to win in Lithuania, but Scotland are no less than 13.40 (62/5) to win in Spain.
