Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland has hailed Robert Lewandowski for his ‘crazy’ goalscoring.
The two forwards have been in stunning form in the Bundesliga in 2020/21, with the Pole having hit 26 strikes and the Dortmund man having plundered 17 of his own in the league.
Lewandowski looks sure to beat his best personal Bundesliga goalscoring count this season, form that continues to baffle Haaland.
Talking to Norwegian TV, the 20-year-old said: “That man is crazy. He is just crazy. When I score I score a goal it’s like ‘One goal closer to catching up to him’. And then he just scores another hat-trick like it’s an everyday thing. What he does is so crazy.”
Haaland also explained specifically what makes the Bayern man such a lethal forward, and what he could potentially learn from him throughout his career.
“Primarily, he is extremely good technically and in the build-up phase. I can learn a lot from that. I watch every Bayern match and learn a lot from them in general. It is a fantastic team. I watch them, and he is fantastic in some of the build-up play. And his positioning,” Haaland continued.
“The combination and relations between him and the other players is…They always know where he is, and he always manages to be there and finish the attacks. That is impressive.”
Lewandowski will be back in action this weekend as Bayern Munich take on FC Koln in the Bundesliga. He can be backed at a price of 2/11 with William Hill to net the opening goal of the game.
