Bordeaux vs EvianThe curtain-closer in France will see Bordeaux and Evian contest for the Coupe de France title at Stade de France in Paris.

This season hasn’t been too successful for les Girondins, who finished the league campaign in 7th place, well below the European positions.

It looks as though their Europa League campaign took the wind out of their sails and prevented them from challenging for a top 5 finish in the league.

Francois Gillot’s side were, nonetheless, pretty impressive in Coupe de France, having reached the final, although they were extremely fortunate with the draw.

Les Girondins reached the final by eliminating Chateauroux, Moulins, Raon l’Etape, Lens and Troyes, and the game against Evian will be a stern test for them.

Even so, Bordeaux have been made 2.05 (21/20) favourites with Ladbrokes to win the match in regular time and thus secure Europa League berth after all.

Les Girondins go into this match on the back of a 2-1 win over Evian in the final match of the league campaign, and they are nearly at full strength at the moment.

Back-up striker Diego Rolan is the only player struggling through injury at the moment, as he looks set to miss the final through an ankle problem.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Carrasso – Mariano, Planus, Sane, Tremoulinas – Plasil, Sertic – Maurice-Belay, Obraniak, Saivet – Diabate.

Unlike their next opponents, Evian have been exceeding expectations this term, with the club founded in 2003 now on the verge of a huge success.

While doing really well to survive another Ligue 1 campaign, les Roses were absolutely brilliant in Coupe de France, beating some very good sides to reach the final at Stade de France.

After seeing off minnows Amiens and Vertou, Evian defeated Le Havre, PSG and Lorient to earn a chance to fight for the coveted trophy.

Les Roses secured their Ligue 1 status in spite of the aforementioned defeat to Bordeaux on the last day, and they are now 2.50 (3/2) with Paddy Power to pip les Girondins to the Coupe de France trophy.

Important midfielder Milos Ninkovic returns from injury, but Djakaridja Kone, Sidney Govou and Herve Bugnet remain sidelined.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Laquait – Dja Djedje, Mongongu, Betao, Wass – Berigaud, Rabiu, Sorlin, Ninkovic – Sagbo, Khelifa.
