The 3-0 triumph over Paraguay helped Brazil secure their place at the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia with four games to go.

This was the Selecao’s eighth straight triumph of the campaign and it saw them become the first nation to qualify for the showpiece tournament.

Philippe Coutinho, Neymar and Marcelo all scored to ensure another comfortable triumph for Tite’s men, who can now be backed at 9.00 (8/1) to go all the way.

But, while Brazil have already booked their place, there are another seven teams vying for three automatic berths and one play-off spot.

Argentina slipped to fifth as they were beaten by Bolivia and with Leo Messi set to miss next three games through suspension, los Albicelestes definitely have reason for concern.

Colombia were the biggest winners of the day as they defeated Ecuador on the road, whereas Peru improved their qualifying hopes thanks to a hard-fought triumph over Uruguay.

Meanwhile, Chile recovered well from the Argentina defeat, beating rock-bottom Venezuela to remain in fourth position.
