FA-cup

Saturday’s FA Cup action kicks off at Valley Parade where League One’s Bradford City host Championship side Reading in the first of the quarter finals.

The Bantams knocked Sunderland out of the fifth round having already brushed aside Halifax Town, Dartford, Millwall and Premier League leaders Chelsea on route to the last eight.

They beat Crawley Town last time out in the league to send them just a point behind the play-off places in the third tier and while promotion will be their main focus, the chance of a third trip to Wembley in just over two years will also be very much on their list of priorities.

Winger Felipe Morais, who has missed the last four games with a knee injury, is expected to return along with goalkeeper Ben Williams while Gary Liddle is also available after serving a suspension.

Jon Stead, who has scored in each of the previous five rounds of this season’s competition, is 7.5 (13/2) with Bet Victor to get the first goal of the game, with James Hanson available at the same price with the same firm.

The home win is 2.7 (17/10) with Coral, with the visitors as highly priced as the 3.0 (2/1) on offer from William Hill. The draw is a 3.4 (13/5) chance with Bet Victor.

The Royals eliminated Championship opposition in each of the last three rounds, knocking out Huddersfield Town, Cardiff City and lastly Derby County.

However their league form of late has been far from impressive, with Steve Clarke’s side having taken just four points from the last twenty-four available though they are ten points clear of the bottom three.

Jem Karacan and Anton Ferdinand will both miss the game, though striker Simon Cox should recover from an ankle problem in time to feature.

Former Nottingham Forest man Cox is 8.5 (15/2) to open the scoring with Bet 365, as is Russian international Pavel Pogrebnyak.

This is the first meeting between the sides in over a decade, with Bradford winning the last clash 2-1 in a Championship match at Valley Parade in April 2004, and you may be tempted to back the home win with both sides to score this time around at 5.75 (19/4) with Coral.
