Dortmund vs GladbachThe very first round of the new Bundesliga campaign has served us a real treat as two of Germany’s top sides will square off at Signal-Iduna Park.

While Dortmund are searching for the fourth competitive triumph of the season, die Fohlen aim to prove they are now the strongest Borussia in the country.

Jurgen Klopp saddened all Borussia Dortmund fans when he announced he would be leaving at the end of last season and new coach Thomas Tuchel will definitely have a difficult job trying to properly replace the bubbly coach.

Even if many believed that a number of star players will follow in Klopp’s footsteps, the Millionaires somehow managed to keep the entire squad together, which is likely to prove more important than if they had signed a number of star players.

Roman Burki, Gonzalo Castro and Julian Weigl did arrive to add more bodies to the squad as Borussia again hope to successfully compete on three fronts.

The season started well for the Millionaires, as they achieved a 6-0 aggregate win over Wolfberger AC in Europa League and will now be vying Odd Grenland for a place in the group stages.

And having also defeated Chemnitzer in the DFB Pokal, they can now be backed at 1.75 (3/4) to extend the winning run against Gladbach.

The hosts have some selection problems given that Durm, Grosskreutz, Subotic, Kirch and Sahin are all unavailable at the moment.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Burki – Piszczek, Sokratis, Hummels, Schmelzer – Bender, Gundogan – Reus, Castro, Mkhitaryan – Aubameyang.

Borussia M’gladbach have come a long way since Lucien Favre arrived at the helm in February 2011 and we can now safely say they are effectively back to old glory days.

Die Fohlen are again considered one of Germany’s top sides and they are slowly leaving their mark on European competitions as well.

After once failing to qualify for the Champions League group stages, Borussia have made things right by finishing third in German Bundesliga and they now want to prepare well for the start of Europe’s elite competition.

Die Fohlen eased off to a 4-1 triumph over St Pauli in the DFB Pokal match, but they face a significantly tougher task next weekend.

And having won seven away fixtures in the previous campaign, Lucien Favre’s side are available at 5.00 (4/1) to win at Signal-Iduna Park.

The visitors will be without Havard Nordtveit, Alvaro Dominguez, Andre Hahn and Martin Stranzl, but summer recruits Josip Drmic and Andreas Christensen are set to start.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Sommer – Jantchke, Schulz, Christensen, Wendt – Stindl, Xhaka – Traore, Raffael, Herrmann – Drmic.
