Borussia Dortmund need to keep the rich vein of form in order to edge closer to Champions League qualification, although they will have one eye on the return leg against Benfica.

In spite of last week’s home loss to Mainz, Bayer Leverkusen are still not without chances to secure a top 4 finish, but they clearly face a tough task at Signal-Iduna Park.

Borussia Dortmund have failed to mount a serious title challenge this season, and they have yet to secure a top 4 finish in the Bundesliga.

Meanwhile, the Millionaires are still in contention for the Champions League and DFB Pokal titles, with their Cup clash against Sportfreunde Lotte postponed due to poor state of the pitch.

This will give Thomas Tuchel and his charges more time to prepare for the league clash against Bayer Leverkusen, where they are 1.53 (8/15) to claim maximum points.

Borussia Dortmund have shown a great deal of improvement following back to back defeats to Darmstadt and Benfica, recording 3-0 wins over Wolfsburg and Freiburg in their last two games.

This means they are heading into the Bayer Leverkusen clash in excellent spirits, and eager to keep the good run going.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Matthias Ginter are both doubtful through illness, whereas January recruit Alexander Isak battles a thigh injury.

Probable starting line-up (3-4-2-1): Burki – Piszczek, Bartra, Schmelzer – Durm, Castro, Weigl, Guerreiro – Dembele, Reus – Aubameyang.

This is clearly a season to forget for Bayer Leverkusen, who continue to struggle on domestic stage, while they are on the verge of European exit.

Following the 4-2 home loss to Atletico Madrid, die Werkself are highly unlikely to progress to the Champions League quarter-finals, but at least they will be able to fully focus on the league campaign.

With just 12 games to go, Bayer Leverkusen sit eight points behind top 4 positions, but the biggest problem are their current performances.

Die Werkself are going through a very rough patch at the moment, as witnessed by four defeats in their last six matches.

Having suffered comfortable defeats to Atletico Madrid and Mainz last week, Bayer Leverkusen don’t have much to hope for ahead of the trip to Signal-Iduna Park.

Brazilian full-back Wendell is back in contention after suspension, but Jonathan Tah and Hakan Calhanoglu remain unavailable for selection.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-2-2): Leno – Henrichs, Toprak, Dragovic, Wendell – L. Bender, Kampl – Bellarabi, Brandt – Chicharito, Havertz.
