Jonathan TahBundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen announced on their official website that they have completed the signing of talented defender Jonathan Tah from league rivals Hamburg.

The 19-year-old joins die Werkself in a €10 million deal, signing a contract until June 2020 with the club.

Tah arrives at Bay Arena following a very successful loan spell with Fortuna Dusseldorf, and he becomes club’s third signing of the summer, following the captures of Admir Mehmedi and Kyriakos Papadopoulos.

“Jonathan Tah is a very talented central defender who collected important match practice in the last season at Fortuna Dusseldorf and proved himself as a pillar of his team,” said Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller.

“His commitment is a great investment in the future, but Jonathan has the class to help us immediately. There were many clubs that had interest in him, so we are pleased that he has chosen to play for Bayer Leverkusen.”

Having finished the previous campaign in fourth place, die Werkself will be looking to show some improvement this season and they can be backed at 5/2 to achieve a top 3 finish.
