Spain players Alvaro Arbeloa and Jesus Navas could miss team’s opening game of the Euro 2012 against Spain.
The Real Madrid defender couldn’t complete training on Tuesday because of a back injury and is now doubtful for the high-profile clash against Italy.
In case Arbeloa fails to recover in time, Atletico Madrid full-back Juanfran will make only his second appearance for La Furia Roja.
Sevilla winger Jesus Navas is also doubtful with a bruised foot, but his absence wouldn’t prove a major issue as he is not normally considered a first team regular.
On a more positive note, Cesc Fabregas has had full recovery from his hamstring problem and the Barcelona midfielder is now in contention for the Italy clash.
Spain face a tough task in their first game at the tournament even if the Azzurri have not been to impressive of late, but 888sport, nonetheless, pays just 1.80 (4/5) on La Furia Roja.
Vincent Del Bosque’s side are 3.80 (14/5) favourites with Bodog to win Euro 2012, whereas Italy are 17.60 (166/10) with Betfair.
