Uruguay vs ParaguayA very difficult match to play for both sides after they missed out on a place in the final, but even a third-place finish would prove a magnificent achievement for either of the two teams.

With Peru narrowly losing to hosts Chile, they may have an advantage over Paraguay, who were hammered 6-1 by Argentina in the semis.

Against all odds, Peru have enjoyed a very successful Copa America finals and they were pretty unfortunate to miss out on a place in the final.

After hammering Bolivia in the quarter-finals, La Blanquirroja entered the clash against hosts Chile in great spirits, and they were the better team until Carlos Zambrano was sent off midway through the first half.

They even managed to equalize with ten men after Eduardo Vargas had scored the opener, but eventually suffered a 2-1 loss in Santiago de Chile.

Following some very good performances at the tournament finals, Peru have rightly been made 2.50 (3/2) favourites to defeat Paraguay in the third place play-off.

Coach Ricardo Gareca will be without the suspended Carlos Zambrano, whereas Jefferson Farfan is doubtful with an ankle problem.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Gallese – Advincula, C. Ramos, Ascues, Vargas – Ballon, Lobaton – Carrillo, Pizarro, Cueva – Guerrero.

Just like their next opponents, Paraguay largely exceeded expectations at the 2015 Copa America, and not even the 6-1 loss to Argentina can change that.

La Albirroja progressed from a very difficult group unbeaten, defeating Jamaica and sharing spoils with Argentina and Uruguay, setting up a quarter-final clash with Brazil.

Paraguay then produced another impressive display to pip the Selecao to a place in the last four, winning the game on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

La Albirroja were unfortunate to have Argentina produce their best performance of the tournament in the semi-final, although they only crumbled in the second period.

Paraguay now hope to end the tournament on a high by beating Peru and they can be backed at 2.95 (39/20) to win the match in ninety minutes.

Roque Santa Cruz and Derlis Gonzalez are out through muscle injuries, but Nestor Ortigoza should return to the side. Haedo Valdez and Bruno Valdez are minor doubts.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Villar – B. Valdez, P. Aguilar, Da Silva, Piris – Bobadilla, V. Caceres, Ortiz, Benitez – N. Valdez, Barrios.
