Barcelona have announced that they have agreed a new contract with Gavi.
The former La Liga and UEFA Champions League winners have stated on their official website that Gavi has put pen to paper on a new contract that runs until June 2026.
The Spain international midfielder’s new buyout clause is set at €1 billion.
Barcelona are second in the La Liga table at the moment with 13 points from five matches.
Xavi’s side are only two points behind leaders and bitter rivals Real Madrid, who are also the defending Spanish champions.
Barcelona will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Elche at Camp Nou in La Liga.
Xavi’s side can be backed at 15/2 on Betfair to win the La Liga match against Elche 4-0.
