Gary Neville has said that England need to be wary of Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric when they face Croatia this coming week.

England will take on Croatia in their opening Euro 2020 Group D game on Sunday.

The match will be held at Wembley Stadium in London and will kick off at 2pm UK time.

England will head into the match as favourites, but Croatia’s chances of picking up all three points from the encounter are rated at a very enticing 4/1 by Betfair.

Ahead of the match, former Manchester United and England international defender Neville has said that the Three Lions need to be careful of Croatia and Madrid midfielder Modric.

Neville told Sky Sports: “With Modric, you’ve got a player who’s seen every game, every situation. He knows he’s composed at the right moment, and that’s a problem for England.

“If that moment in the game comes, a draw with 10 minutes to go, he’s in and around the final third, he’s the one who will thread that pass, who will put that ball into the box.

“He will win that free-kick and take it. These players are game-changers, the ones you can’t stop.”
