Manchester United will be aiming to finally seal their progression to the UEFA Europa League final as they travel to Italy for the second-leg against AS Roma.

Ole Gunnar Solskajer’s men make the trip with an overwhelming advantage having won 6-2 at Old Trafford last weekend. Edinson Cavani and Bruno Fernandes both scored twice each, whilst Paul Pogba and Mason Greenwood also found the net to secure a thumping first-leg victory.

It goes without saying then that it is going to take a dramatic turnaround in the eternal city for the Red Devils not to be in the final. They are overwhelming favourites at a price of 1/500 with Betfred to qualify for their second Europa League final since 2017. Meanwhile, Paulo Fonseca’s men sit at odds of 66/1 to stage a dramatic comeback and instead claim a ticket to Gdansk.

It will certainly be clear to the hosts that a win will simply not be enough for them to progress to the final – they have to win by four clear goals in order to produce what would be a huge shock. Any such comeback would be even more surprising considering Manchester United’s record against Roma. The Red Devils have taken on the Italians on seven occasions throughout their history, only losing once. Solskjaer’s men sit at 9/10 with Betfair to win once again, whilst the Giallorossi are at 27/10. A draw meanwhile is available at odds of 31/10.

Despite the last game between the two teams having only taken place at Old Trafford last week, the two teams could have a completely complexion.

Considering the relative comfort that the Red Devils find themselves in, Solskjaer could well be tempted to rotate for the upcoming clash. The likes of Bruno Fernandes, Luke Shaw and Edinson Cavani could all be rested. Meanwhile, Eric Bailly could make a return to the starting line-up in place of Victor Lindelof. Only Phil Jones and Anthony Martial are the Red Devils absentees. Despite that, Fernandes remains the favourite to score first from United’s perspective at odds of 4/1 with William Hill.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Pau Lopez is out for Roma after dislocating his shoulder in the first-leg. Roma sustained a number of other injuries at Old Trafford and it is thought that Leonardo Spinazzola, Jordan Veretout and Amadou Diawara are all restricted to the sidelines. However, there is more positive news as defender Gianluca Mancini can return from suspension. Edin Dzeko is the most fancied to score first from Roma’s perspective at a price of 6/1.
