Southampton are searching for a new manager after Mauricio Pochettino completed his switch to Tottenham Hotspur in the last twenty-four hours.

The Argentine guided the Saints to an eighth place finish in the Premier League last season, after arriving on the South Coast half way through the 2012/2013 campaign.

He replaces Tim Sherwood, who was dismissed at the end of last season, and becomes Spurs’ tenth manager since 2001.

The 42 year old has been handed a five-year contract, and will compete on four fronts next season after Sherwood guided the club to Europa League qualification.

As for Southampton, their hunt for a new boss begins, and FC Basel’s Murat Yakin is currently the favourite to land the job.

In his two seasons with the Swiss club, he has won the league title twice and last season beat Chelsea both home and away in the group stages of the Champions League.

He is priced at 5.0 (4/1) with a variety of firms, narrowly ahead of Feyenord manager Ronald Koeman.

The Dutchman has been at helm of clubs in Spain and Portugal as well as his native Netherlands, where his has won titles with both Ajax and PSV Eindhoven.

Koeman can be backed 6.0 (5/1) with Bet 365, who offer the best price of 8.0 (7/1) for Michael Laudrup, who has been out of work since his dismissal by Swansea City back in February.

Sunderland boss Gus Poyet, whose future at the Black Cats is far from certain despite leading them to the League Cup final and securing their top flight status, is next in the market at 11.0 (10/1) with Bet 365, while Ramon Diaz, who resigned from Argentina’s River Plate yesterday, is worth considering at the same price with Paddy Power.

Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon is available at 13.0 (12/1) with Paddy Power with Steve McClaren, fresh from his Championship Play-Off final defeat heartbreak, the same price with Betfred.

Other names in the frame are unemployed trio David Moyes, Martin Jol and Malky Mackay who are all priced at 17.0 (16/1) with a variety of firms, as is Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe.
