Jack WilshireArsene Wenger has admitted that he expects Jack Wilshire to face Manchester United next weekend despite struggling with an ankle problem.

The England international returned into action following a five-week spell on the sidelines as he started Premier League matches against Norwich and Everton, but it appears he is not fully fit at the moment.

Wenger decided to leave Wilshire out of the starting eleven at Craven Cottage, but reveals that was only a precautionary measure.

“Jack was in a bit in pain after the game,” Wenger told reporters. “He has a break until next Sunday and that is different so he will be available.

“There is no basic ankle problem. I just felt we had to stop him because of inflammation last time and I just felt to give him three games in six days would be too much.

“I do not want to go into a vicious circle again when I play, I play him, I play him and then suddenly … I think coming back after six weeks out, two games in a week was enough.”

Arsenal remained two points clear of fifth-placed Tottenham as they recorded a 1-0 triumph over Fulham, but with Spurs having a game in hand, the Gunners have got to try and beat the new Premier League champions as well.

The Gunners are 2.50 (3/2) at Betfred to continue their winning run, and 1.36 (4/11) at Ladbrokes to achieve a top 4 finish once again.
