Dimitri PayetWest Ham co-chairman David Gold has suggested that it would take at least £50 million to prize French midfielder Dimitri Payet away from the club.

The 29-year-old has become one of world’s most sought-after footballers following the impressive debut season in the Premiership and he did nothing to harm his growing reputation with a strong showing for France at Euro 2016.

Payet scored three goals as Les Bleus finished as runners up and created more goalscoring chances than any other footballer, meaning that West Ham are now bracing themselves for big money offers for his services.

Speaking to Radio 5 Live presenter Kelly Cates, West Ham co-chairman David Gold revealed that they would not consider offers lower than £50 million.

The Hammers chief believes they have done everything in their power to keep the player happy and he hopes Payet will remain at the club for the foreseeable future.

West Ham will be looking to build on the thoroughly impressive campaign and they are now available at 10.00 (9/1) to achieve a top 4 finish.
