Villarreal join Mata race

Juan MataSpanish international Juan Mata is edging closer to a move away from Old Trafford with Jose Mourinho taking over at Manchester United.

Portuguese tactician was the one who sold the Spaniard to Manchester United from Chelsea in the first place with the pair not seeing eye-to-eye and Juan Mata is widely tipped to be the first one to leave Red Devils during the summer transfer window.

Host of Europe’s major clubs have lined up in effort to sign the 28-year-old with Juventus, Inter having already expressed their interest in Manchester United midfielder.

Premier League rivals Everton were believed to be in the pole position however, but according to Spanish media outlet Super Deporte Villarreal have also joined the race to sign Juan Mata this summer.

Spanish outfit are keen to take Juan Mata on loan with a purchase option at the end of a year-long spell and it is believed that a prospect of returning to his homeland appeals to the player himself.

Juan Mata began his career at Real Madrid playing for the B team at Santiago Bernabeu, before he moved to Valencia in 2007. Following a three-year spell at Chelsea Juan Mata was dispatched to Manchester United, who will now be looking to recoup a major part of their €45 million investment.

Jose Mourinho is looking to revolutionise his squad in order to make Manchester United title challengers in the upcoming season.

Red Devils are looking at the betting odds of 5.00 (4/1) @BetFair to be crowned the Premier League champions in 2016-17 season.
