llorenteSwansea are finally set to recruit a high-profile striker as BBC Sport understands they have agreed a deal for Sevilla forward Fernando Llorente.

The highly rated footballer was looking to leave los Rojiblancos in search of first team football and sporting director Monchi has now revealed the transfer is set to go ahead.

“It has come a long way with Swansea to reach an agreement,” Monchi was quoted as saying.

Swansea were desperate to recruit a quality centre forward after Bafetimbi Gomis, Eder and Alberto Paloschi left the club, and they have finally got their man.

Fernando Llorente will be eager to prove his credentials after a somewhat disappointing campaign with Sevilla, during which he could only score 4 goals in 23 league appearances.

Meanwhile, his new club Swansea will be looking to improve on the 12th—place finish from last season and they are now priced at 6.00 (5/1) for a top 10 finish.
