Manchester United are reportedly prepared to bid for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku in the January transfer window.

According to Dutch outlet De Telegraaf, Manchester United boss has hinted that the Red Devils could sign a new striker in effort to bolster the forward line. Manchester United have so far only scored 24 goals in 20 Premier League games and the manager believes there is a solution for the problem.

Manchester United have recorded a 2-1 win over Swansea at the weekend with Martial and Rooney getting their names on the scoresheet, but the Red Devils has struggled to find the back of the net for much of the term.

“The problem of scoring can be solved with money”, Louis van Gaal has been quoted.

Manchester United’s scouts have been reportedly following Romelu Lukaku in recent weeks, who has been in superb form of late.

The 22-year-old has netted 15 goals in 19 Premier League appearances this season and is joining Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy at the top of the charts. Everton striker is also standing at 2.63 (13/8) odds at Bet365 to finish the season as the Premier League top scorer.

The Old Trafford outfit are preparing a bid for the Belgium international and it is believed that Everton would demand no less than £35 million for the player who was brought from Chelsea for a fee of £28 million in July 2014.
