Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp believes that Spurs are finally ready to mount a serious challenge for the Premier League title.

The team from North London remained in the running for the first place in the standings with the hard-fought victory over West Bromwich, leaving the gaffer delighted by team’s showings in the first part of the league campaign.

“I don’t know about a title winning team but we are there and thereabouts. We have to keep believing and keep going. You never know, nothing is in impossible,” Redknapp said.

“It’s been a great first half of the season. Considering we lost the first two games to have the points we have is great. We are in there and have a lot to look forward to in the second half of the season.”

Redknapp is adamant that his players cannot afford to become complacent following the remarkable run of results.

“You aren’t going to rip teams every week. You’ve only got to look at some of the results over the holidays. Blackburn won at Man United, Sunderland beat Man City and Fulham beat Arsenal. There are no easy games for anyone in this league.

“We’ve got some tough games coming up. Everton will come here and be hard to beat, that’s a really difficult one.”

Spurs are now six points behind leaders Manchester City, but with a game in hand, so odds of 13.40 (62/5) offered by Betfair on Tottenham to win Premier League title could be worth a shot.
