Manchester United interim-manager Ralf Rangnick has raved about Cristiano Ronaldo on the club’s official website.
Rangnick has spoken highly of Ronaldo, who returned to United from Juventus in the summer of 2021.
The United interim-boss told the club’s official website: “One does not exclude the other. Of course, what he has done in his career so far is amazing.
“I mean, 800 goals in competitive games, nobody has achieved that before in the last, I don’t know, 80 or 100 years. This shows what kind of player he is, what kind of exceptional player he is. He was not available in the last two games against Aston Villa.
“He trained again for the first time yesterday, he will probably train today again, and then we will have to see if he’s an option for the game against Brentford tomorrow.
“But even with an outstanding Cristiano Ronaldo, we are talking about a team sport in one of the most competitive leagues in the world, or the most competitive league in the world, and he cannot do things on his own.
“We can only improve and get better as a team. He is one important member of this team and this is how we have to develop it.”
Ronaldo has made 14 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for United so far this season, scoring eight goals and providing three assists in the process.
The Portugal international forward has scored six goals in five Champions League games so far this campaign.
United are seventh in the Premier League table at the moment with 32 points from 20 matches.
The Red Devils are rated at 5/2 on Betfair to finish in the Premier League top four this season.
