Premier League giants circling for Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake

Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake has a collection of top Premier League clubs vying for his signature, according to reports.

The Telegraph report that both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in the Dutch international, with both keen to strengthen their options at centre-back.

However, both clubs could face potential problems if they swoop for Ake. After leaving Chelsea and joining Bournemouth on a permanent deal in 2016 for approximately £20m, the Blues inserted an agreement into the deal that they would be able to bring him back to Stamford Bridge for only £40m. Therefore, should any bids come in from Tottenham or United, Bournemouth would have to give the Blues the opportunity to enter the race.

Ake has enjoyed an excellent start to the season and has been a key reason as to why the Cherries are sitting sixth in the Premier League table. Over two spells at the Vitality Stadium, the 23-year-old has made 60 appearances for the club, scoring six goals and provided three assists.

He has also earned eight caps for the Netherlands and came on as a substitute in the Dutch’s 3-0 win over Germany on Saturday. He could feature again as the Netherlands face off with Belgium in an international friendly on Tuesday evening. Ake can be backed at 33/1 with William Hill to open the scoring.
