Premier League Trophy

With just over six weeks until the start of the Premier League season, there is hardly anything between last year’s top three in the odds for who will come out on top.

The top three all have new men at the helm, though it’s reigning Champions Manchester United who lead the market at a price of 3.25 (9/4) with most firms.

The dust has settled on David Moyes first press conference since taking charge at Old Trafford, with the 50 year old ringing the changes ahead of the clubs title defence.

The former Everton boss has assembled a familiar team around him as he looks to hit the ground running, though he could have hardly asked for a tougher start to his tenure.

United begin with a trip to Swansea City before hosting Chelsea, and travelling to Anfield during a testing August, while the away leg of the Manchester derby is just five games into the season.

The match at Eastlands on September 21st is arguably the Blue half of Manchester’s first real test, with a home game against Newcastle United and a trip to Stoke City come either side of matches against newly-promoted duo Cardiff City and Hull City.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men are 3.4 (12/5) with Coral to take the league trophy from their neighbours, while SkyBet offer the same price for a Chelsea side once again under the guidance of Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese manager, who won back-to-back titles during his first spell at Stamford Bridge, will be relatively pleased with the Blues opening fixture – a home game against Hull City.

However, trips to Old Trafford and Goodison Park follow, with the Super Cup final against Bayern Munich in Prague thrown in the middle.

Arsenal, who are available at 13.0 (12/1) with Ladbrokes, have perhaps the most favorable start of all the Championship hopeful’s, with four of their first fixtures coming against sides who finished in the bottom half of the division last time around.

The other fixture in that run comes at home to Tottenham Hotspur, who Coral price at 41.0 (40/1) to win their first title in over fifty years, just behind Liverpool, who are widely available at 34.0 (33/1).
