Chelsea keeper on loan at Atletico Madrid, Thibaut Courtois has revealed that the Blues officials are worried about Petr Cech’s long-term future.

Cech’s career at Chelsea has been plagued with injuries and Courtois says the coaches fear that he won’t be able to play on for much longer.

“I know he has problems in his knees and on his back,” Courtois told Spanish radio Onda Cero.

“Chelsea’s goalkeeping coach told me he doesn’t know how much time Cech can play at the top level.”

The former Genk keeper was indeed brought as a long-term replacement for the Czech, but he is still far from being Chelsea’s number one keeper.

“Chelsea told me to spend two years at a club like Atletico. After that one season in an English team so I can integrate myself into the Premier League.”

Chelsea have started this season really well under Andre Villas-Boas and they are expected to mount a serious title challenge. The Blues are 4.30 (33/10) with Bodog to win English Premier League title.
