Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Nuno Espirito Santo has refuted claims linking him to the Manchester United job.

Current Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho has been under pressure so far this season having only taken two wins out of their opening two games. Despite still having two years remaining on his contract at Old Trafford, reports in the German media speculated that the hierarchy at the club had identified Nuno as his long-term successor.

However, the Portuguese has rubbished those claims. Talking ahead of Wolves’ clash with Burnley on Sunday afternoon, he said: “You know me. I don’t talk about that. It does not make sense.

“This is not the moment to even think about it. I don’t think about it, I totally ignore that, I totally ignore it.”

The former Valencia boss has enjoyed a successful time in his stint in the West Midlands since he arrived from FC Porto. The team waltzed to the Championship crown last season, racking up 99 points in the process. Now back in the Premier League, Wolves claimed their first top-flight victory of the campaign before the international break as they edged past West Ham United 1-0.

The team are now likely to stay in the Premier League according to Paddy Power. Wolves are 12/1 to be relegated from the Premier League.
