Newcastle United are reportedly eyeing a considerable splurge in the upcoming transfer window with the likes of Nabil Fekir, Kalidou Kouliably and Edinson Cavani all apparently on their wishlist.

The club are currently in the midst of takeover talks, with the Premier League yet to sign off the deal that would see Mike Ashley relinquish control of the club.

The new owners, a Saudi-backed consortium, are set to bring considerable funds to St James’ Park and with it a glamorous list of targets.

Right at the top of that is Real Betis midfielder Nabil Fekir, with Foot Mercato reporting that Newcastle would be very keen on a move but would also face competition from both Arsenal and AC Milan.

Fekir, 26, only joined Betis last summer and has enjoyed a relatively productive campaign having scored seven goals and provided three assists.

It isn’t the first time that the Frenchman would be interesting clubs in the Premier League. In June 2018, Fekir was reportedly close to joining Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool from Olympique Lyon only for the switch the fall through at the last minute.

It’s not just Fekir who Newcastle are targeting though, with PSG’s Cavani and Koulibaly of Napoli also apparently targets. The former remains out of contract this summer, whilst Koulibaly would also be quite the coup for the Magpies.
