Julio CesarItalian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport understands that Napoli are on the verge of signing QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar.

The Azzurri have reportedly reached an agreement with the Championship side, with the Brazilian set to arrive on a season-long loan with an option to buy.

However, the Italian daily claims that Arsenal and Roma could still hijack the deal for the 33-year-old shot-stopper.

New Napoli boss Rafa Benitez is eager to replace current number one Morgan De Sanctis and he believed Julio Cesar would be a perfect addition to the squad at Stadio San Paolo.

As a result, the Azzurri are just 1.80 (4.5) with BetVictor to sign the Brazil international in the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are 2.25 (5/4) to lure Cesar to the Emirates instead and Roma are priced at 9.00 (8/1) as they search for a new keeper after Maarten Stekelenburg joined Fulham.

Julio Cesar is reportedly keen on returning to Italy, having spent no less than seven years at Inter before joining QPR last summer.
