Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has said that ‘no player is bigger than the club’ following his tense exchange with Paul Pogba in the week.

The Portuguese was filmed having a frosty exchange with the Frenchman in midweek over claims that the relationship between the two had soured. Pogba has confirmed that no player is bigger than Manchester United but did also refute the claims that the two had a somewhat tricky relationship.

Talking ahead of his team’s trip to the London Stadium to face West Ham United on Saturday afternoon, Mourinho said: “No player is bigger than the club.

“Manchester United is bigger than anyone. I have to defend that.”

The 55-year-old also reaffirmed that there are no doubts whether the World Cup winner will be included in the squad to play West Ham. He said: “Tomorrow he plays. He is a player like the others.

“No player is bigger than the club. If I am happy with his work he plays, if I am not he doesn’t play. I am really happy with his work this week. He trained really well.”

Pogba can be backed at 15/2 with BetVictor to open the scoring at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
