Mourinho GuardiolaTwo managers who have formed a fierce and bitter rivalry during their times in charge of Barcelona and Real Madrid are getting ready to engage in a new battle at the beginning of their Premier League managerial careers.

Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho have both set their sight on signing the Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and are ready to pounce for the Gabon international during summer transfer window according to Spanish daily AS.

The 26-year-old striker is valued at £65 million and his transfer to Premier League would be a British record signing.

Arsenal and Real Madrid, who are believed to be Aubameyang’s preferred destination, have also been linked with the Gabon international, but seeing that Gunners have already made moves towards signing Jamie Vardy from Leicester Real Madrid are the only club that could join the chase for the talented forward.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was expected to sign a new deal with Borussia Dortmund but has put the contract talks on hold as he is believed to be concerned that key players are leaving.

Mats Hummels has already joined Bayern Munich, while Ilkay Gundogan was officially announced as Manchester City signing last week and Aubameyang could be the last in line to leave Dortmund this summer.

In the meantime, Aubameyang has played down exit talk insisting he isn’t actively seeking a move away from the Westfalenstadion. However, Manchester City remain firm favourites at the odds of 3.00 (2/1) @BetVictor to sing the Gabon international.

Borussia Dortmund striker has been in superb form for his club last season scoring 25 goals in 31 Bundesliga appearances.

The 26-year-old forward also added 11 goals in 14 UEFA Europa League matches.
