FischerFresh from their return to Premier League football, Middlesbrough appear to have made a real statement of intent with their first summer signing.

Dutch media outlet De Telegraaph has reported that talented Ajax forward Victor Fischer has agreed terms with Middlesbrough on a four-year deal with medicals the only thing separating this exciting 21-year-old talent from signing with Aitor Karanka’s side.

Middlesbrough have beaten off competition from big-spending Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg to the exciting player who travelled to England on Tuesday to discuss personal terms with the English side.

A deal to bring Victor Fischer to Riverside Stadium is reportedly worth £3.8 million as Fischer looks set to sign a proposed three-year contract plus a one-year option.

Victor Fischer is being regarded as one of Europe’s hottest prospects and is likely to be a gem of a signing for the team which came up automatically from the Championship last season.

Fischer is a versatile forward who can play in several positions across the front line, but he is best known as a left winger.
