Premier League Champions Manchester United will hope to continue their resurgence as they take welcome in form Southampton to Old Trafford.

The hosts currently sit in ninth position after losing three of their opening seven games, but avoided a third straight league loss with a come from behind victory over Sunderland last time out.

Tom Cleverley will be assessed ahead of the game, after the midfielder withdrew from international duty last week with a calf injury.

Rio Ferdinand could return after recovering from a groin problem, while Adnan Januzaj will be hoping for another start after his match winning performance at the Stadium of Light.

The 18 year old is priced at 11.5 (21/2) with Bet Victor to open the scoring, with Wayne Rooney a 5.75 (19/4) shot with the same firm following his goal scoring exploits for England.

The home win is available at 1.6 (3/5) with Bet Victor, while Southampton a 7.0 (6/1) chance with Bet 365, who offer 4.33 (10/3) for the draw.

The Saints are riding high in fourth position after picking up ten points from their past twelve available, and keeping four clean sheets in the process.

Artur Boruc is available despite missing Poland’s defeat to England on Tuesday, while Luke Shaw is fit again after recovering from illness.

Rickie Lambert is on offer at 10.0 (9/1) with Bet Victor to get the first goal of the game, ahead of the generously priced James Ward-Prowse, who is a 36.0 (35/1) shot after netting for England’s U21s in their win over Lithuania.

Despite securing a couple of famous wins against United during the 1990’s, Southampton have lost the last eight times that the sides met.

However, with confidence high, you may be tempted to back the visitors to score first at a price of 3.25 (9/4) with Ladbrokes.

David Moyes’ men are priced at 9.5 (17/2) with Bet Victor to, like a fortnight ago, come from behind to win – something which United also did a number of times on route to clinching a twentieth league title in the spring.
