Kun Aguero

The first round of Premier League fixtures concludes at the Etihad Stadium on Monday evening as Manchester City host Newcastle United.

The host’s new manager Manuel Pellegrini could give debuts to Fernandinho, Stevan Jovetic, Alvaro Negredo and Jesus Navas, while Sergio Aguero is also in line to play having recovered from a knee injury though Matija Nastasic misses out with an ankle problem.

With twelve goals, Aguero was the clubs top league goalscorer last season and the Argentina international is joint favourite with Negredo to open the scoring, with both priced at 5.0 (4/1) with Bet Victor.

City are odds on to win the match with a variety of firms offering a price of 1.33 (1/3), while Newcastle are available at 12.0 (11/1) with Bet 365, who also have the best odds of 5.75 (19/4) for the draw.

Alan Pardew will be without new loan signing Loic Remy (calf) for the trip to last season’s runners-up, while there are also fitness doubts over Davide Santone (hip), Steven Taylor (toe) and Jonas Gutierrez (hamstring).

Papiss Cisse is 15.0 (14/1) with Bet Victor to get the first goal of the game, while Hatem Ben Arfa is a 17.0 (16/1) shot with the same firm.

Last season’s corresponding fixture was a rather one sides affair, with City running out 4-0 winners and with the odds stacked so firmly in the hosts favour, you may be tempted to back another rout.

Coral offer odds of 2.2 (6/5) for the home side to score three or more goals while a repeat of that 4-0 scoreline 16.0 (15/1) with Bet Victor.

City are in fact unbeaten in the last thirteen meetings between the sides, winning seven, with Newcastle’s last victory coming courtesy of a Michael Owen goal back in September 2005.

However, you have to go back a further five years for the Magpies last win at Manchester City, when Alan Shearer bagged a late winner at Maine Road, and you can back an unlikely 1-0 away win at 34.0 (33/1) with Coral.
