Everton defender Lucas Digne has revealed that the Toffees are targeting Champions League football under Carlo Ancelotti.

The former AC Milan, Real Madrid and Chelsea boss arrived at Goodison Park in December last and breathed new life into Everton’s stuttering season under Marco Silva.

Prior to the suspension of the Premier League, the Toffees were sitting 12th in the table having only lost three out of their last 11 Premier League games.

With Ancelotti’s contract running until the summer of 2023, Digne has revealed that the future targets under the Italian have to be Europe’s premier club competition.

Talking to Sky Sports, the French left-back said: “To finish in Europe for sure. We have to finish very high. If we could finish in Europe, it would be the best for the club and the fans.

“We are building something, we are building a project. We have very good players. In a few years, they [Everton] have bought a lot of players, they have invested a lot.

“We have to finish in the top four, top five, and to play the Champions League.”

Digne had been enjoying another stellar season since his move from Barcelona. He had made 26 Premier League appearances and notched six assists.
