Sunday afternoon’s Premier League action kicks off at Anfield where fourth place Liverpool take on a Swansea City side who sit just four points above the bottom three.

Brendan Rodgers’ men go in to the game on the back of being knocked out of the FA Cup by Arsenal at the Emirates a week ago – their first defeat of 2014.

With the three sides above them all picking up victories on Saturday, the Reds will need to take all three points if they are keen to keep alive any hopes of securing a first league title since 1990, though the party line has very much been that merely a top-four spot is their aim.

Glen Johnson returns to the squad after recovering from injury though Lucas and Jose Enrique (both knee) and Mamdou Sakho (hamstring) remain side-lined.

Top scorer Luis Suarez is favourite to open the scoring at 3.75 (11/4) with Bet 365, with Daniel Sturridge priced at 5.0 (4/1) with the same firm.

The home win is widely available at 1.3 (3/10), with Swansea as highly priced as the 11.0 (10/1) on offer from several firms. The draw is a 6.0 (5/1) shot with Bet 365.

The visitors were also in FA Cup action last weekend, falling to a 3-1 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park, while in midweek they held Serie A side Napoli to a goalless draw at home in the first leg of their Europa League last 32 tie.

In the league, their 3-0 win in the South Wales derby earlier this month was only their second in eleven games though victory here would see them move into the top half of the table.

Former Liverpool man Jonjo Shelvey should feature after returning from injury off the bench on Thursday evening, though Michu remains out with an ankle problem.

Wilfriend Bony is 11.0 (10/1) to get the first goal of the game with a variety of bookmakers, while Shelvey can be widely backed at 17.0 (16/1).

Swansea were the first side this season to deny Liverpool victory back in September as the sides played out a 2-2 draw at the Liberty Stadium, while last season’s corresponding fixture ended in a resounding 5-0 win for the Reds.

With the Merseyside club in such sublime form this season, especially in front of their own fans you may be tempted to take advantage of Coral’s offer of 4.0 (3/1) to score at least four this time around.
