Southampton vs LiverpoolBuoyed by the Premier League triumph over champions Manchester City, Liverpool go into the FA Cup quarter-final clash against Blackburn full of confidence.

Rovers arrive at Anfield hoping to shock their more illustrious opponents, but that is clearly easier said than done given the Reds’ current form.

Brendan Rodgers was forced to endure a lot of stick for team’s disappointing performances in the first part of the season, even if he was not the only one to blame for some under-par results.

But, the talented manager quickly proved his credentials by changing the style of play to help the Reds kick-start their season.

The Champions League exit also helped Liverpool to focus on domestic competitions and they have been thoroughly impressive ever since.

Nine wins in eleven Premier League fixtures saw the Reds revive their top 4 bid, with impressive victories over Spurs, Saints and Manchester City proving the Anfield outfit deserve to be playing Champions League football next term.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have a great opportunity to make it to the FA Cup semis as they host Blackburn on Sunday, with home win paying 1.33 (1/3).

The Reds will welcome back Mamadou Sakho from injury, while captain Steven Gerrard could be fit to play, but he is highly unlikely to start. Jordan Ibe, Lucas Leiva and Jose Enrique remain sidelined.

Probable starting line-up (3-4-2-1): Mignolet – Can, Skrtel, Sakho – Sterling, Henderson, Allen, Markovic – Lallana, Coutinho – Sturridge.

Blackburn Rovers have had mixed success this season, with their Championship campaign not exactly going according to plan.

The Ewood Park outfit have failed to mount a serious promotion challenge, although at least they don’t have to worry about the relegation tussle.

Meanwhile, Gary Bowyer’s side have impressed in the FA Cup, defeating Charlton Athletic on the road before enjoying comfortable wins over Premier League sides Swansea and Stoke in front of home fans.

They will clearly have much bigger fish to try this Sunday, but bear in mind that Rovers are 3.70 (27/10) not to lose at Anfield.

Former Liverpool starlet Jay Spearing is cup-tied, whilst Jason Lowe and Shane Duffy are unavailable as well.

Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Eastwood – Henley, Henry, Kilgallon, Olsson – Taylor, Williamson, Cairney, Marshall – Gestede, King.
