Ben DaviesDaily Express has learned that Liverpool have had an £8 million bid rejected for Swansea full-back Ben Davies.

The Reds have been very active in the summer transfer window, selling Luis Suarez to Barcelona while recruiting Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic.

And the summer spending looks set to continue as Liverpool officials step up their search for a new left-sided defender.

While they were believed to be pondering a move for Sevilla’s Alberto Moreno, the Reds seem to have turned their attention to Swansea starlet Ben Davies.

And despite having an £8 million bid rejected for the highly rated defender, the Premier League giants are likely to return with a new proposal.

The Reds are desperate to build on what was a very promising season last term and finally try and win the Premiership title.

That is not going to be an easy task after the sale of Luis Suarez, but bear in mind Liverpool are no less than 10.00 (9/1) with Coral to lift the trophy.
