Leicester City are set to get their summer transfer business underway by making a move for Barcelona winger Francisco Trincão.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Premier League outfit are interested in the Portuguese wideman and are planning on offering the Camp Nou club a two-year loan as well as an obligation to buy the player for £45m.
Trincao, 20, has only just arrived at Barcelona, with the club having agreed a deal to sign him from former club Braga for a fee of €31m after an extremely promising season that had seen him score nine goals and provide 10 assists in all competitions. The Portuguese youngster penned a five-year deal with Catalans, with a release clause of approximately €500m.
Despite that, and also never having appeared, Barca could be tempted to sell Trincao because of the financial problems that the coronavirus pandemic has had on world football.
It is understood that there is further interest in the winger from Serie A outfit Atalanta but according to the report, they have yet to make a move. Should they enter the race, they would be able to offer UEFA Champions League to Trincao, whilst the Foxes are set to enter the UEFA Europa League next season.
His current employers are still in European competition for the 2019/20 season and head to Lisbon for the UEFA Champions League. The Catalans can be backed at a price of 8/1 with William Hill to win the competition.
