Premier League champions Leicester City are in advanced talks to sign Algerian striker Islam Slimani from Sporting CP, according to A Bola.

The Foxes are looking to further reinforce their front line before the summer transfer window closes and they reportedly submitted a €35 million proposal for the highly rated striker.

However, even though their asking price was €30 million until recently, the Lions are now holding out for €40 million.

The two sides are currently trying to negotiate a deal, as the Foxes representatives are now in Lisbon, trying to wrap up the transfer.

Islam Slimani has been one of club’s most prolific strikers in recent history, having bagged 48 goals in 82 league appearances.

And with Bas Dost and Luc Castaignos joining Sporting CP in recent days, chances are the Algerian will be sold in the next couple of days.
