High-flying Premier League outfit Leicester City are reportedly eyeing a loan deal for Juventus defender Merih Demiral in January.

The Foxes have previously been linked with the Turkish centre-back, alongside other English sides and have apparently had a bid in excess in £25.5m turned down for his signature according to Sky in Italy.

As a result, Brendan Rodgers’ side have instead approached Juventus with a loan deal for Demiral, with the intention of seeing how he adapts to life in the Premier League.

However, it could be tough to convince his current employers Juventus, with the Old Lady having also rejected a £34m offer from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.

Demiral arrived in Turin in the recent summer transfer window from fellow Serie A side Sassuolo. Despite having struggled to initially make an impact with the reigning champions, the 21-year-old has played the full 90 minutes in each of Juventus’ last two league games.

Should he move to the King Power Stadium, he will be competing with countryman Caglar Soyuncu, Jonny Evans and Wes Morgan for a starting berth in the Leicester defence.

The East-Midlanders have enjoyed a stellar season so far and are sitting second in the Premier League. They are available at a price as low as 1/10 with William Hill to finish in the top four this season.
