New Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly eyeing a move that would see Zlatan Ibrahimovic sign for the club.

The Swedish striker is available on a free transfer after departing MLS outfit LA Galaxy following the expiry of his contract and reports from The Telegraph indicate that Mourinho is hoping to hijack AC Milan’s move and bring him to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Mourinho has twice managed Ibrahimovic in the past at both Inter Milan and Manchester United, last bringing him to the Premier League on another free transfer from Paris Saint Germain. He made quite the impact during his last stint in the Premier League, scoring 29 goals in 53 appearances in all competitions before suffering a serious knee injury.

Whilst in Manchester, the now 38-year-old also boosted his considerable trophy cabinet by winning the EFL Cup and the Europa League.

Should he make the switch to North London under Mourinho, he would more than likely act as back-up to Harry Kane who despite being part of a tricky beginning to the season for Spurs has still managed to score 10 goals in 15 appearances.

Despite the links to his former boss and Tottenham, Ibrahimovic is still more fancied to sign for AC Milan by the end of January and can be backed at 4/6 with Betfair to return to the San Siro.
