Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that striker Javier Hernandez is set to miss next two weeks of action.

The Mexican striker spent a night in hospital after he sustained a mild concussion in training.

Even though there was no damage found by the medical staff, the Manchester United gaffer has revealed that Hernandez will be out of action for a fortnight.

“He got concussion in training and we dealt with that,” said Ferguson. “We took him to hospital, he had a scan, it was all clear.

“He is back in the hotel. He is in his room and will be out for a couple of weeks.

“He would never have been available for Barcelona anyway because he has just come back from his break after the Gold Cup. He will travel with us though. He is okay for that.”

It looks that the Mexican striker will be ready for the start of the Premiership season and United’s opening game at the Hawthorns on 14th August.

After scoring 13 goals in just 15 Premiership starts last term, Chicharito is now rated as number one favourite for the top goalscorer trophy, being priced 9.00 (8/1) with Bodog. His teammate Wayne Rooney is 10.00 (9/1) with William Hill.
