Raheem Sterling EnglandManchester City stars Joe Hart and Raheem Sterling are almost certain to miss England’s games vs Germany and Netherlands, it has been revealed.

The pair picked up injuries in the Manchester derby at the weekend and they could be out of action for around four weeks.

This means they are unlikely to take part in England’s friendlies vs Germany and Netherlands, taking place on 26 March and 29 March respectively.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini moved to confirm that his players will not be able to join the Three Lions squad.

“Both of them have muscle injuries,” Pellegrini said at a press conference. “Raheem is his groin while Joe is his calf – and I don’t think muscle injuries are one week. Normally this is three or four weeks.”

England start their Euro 2016 preparations by facing World Cup holders Germany at Olympiastadion in Berlin and they are 5.50 (5/2) shot to emerge victorious.

Leicester City playmaker Danny Drinkwater has received his first ever call-up following some impressive displays in the Premier League, but Mark Noble has been overlooked.

It remains to be seen whether Roy Hodgson will pair red-hot Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy in attack or stick to his 4-2-3-1 formation.
