Manchester United central defender Harry Maguire has said that he and his teammates will have to bounce back from the defeat to Young Boys in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

United suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of Young Boys away from home in their opening Champions League Group F game.

Cristiano Ronaldo put United in the lead in the 13th minute.

The Red Devils went down to 10 men on 33 minutes when Aaron Wan-Bissaka was shown a straight red fo a challenge on Christopher Martins.

Moumi Ngamaleu equalised for the Swiss club midway through the first half.

Then in the fifth minute of injury time, Lingard made a mistake by trying to play the ball back to United goalkeeper David De Get, and Jordan Siebatcheu took advantage of it to score the winner.

United defender and captain Maguire has expressed his disappointed at the result and is determined to bounce back.

Maguire told United’s official website: “We don’t like losing any football match, so we’re disappointed tonight of course. But it’s matchday one, we’ve got five more matches to go.

“We’ll be looking to pick up three points in the next game and gain momentum from there.

“It’s disappointing to lose the first game [but] there’s a long way to go, we have an objective and we’ve still got every chance of achieving that objective.”

Despite the loss, United are rated at 1/14 on Betfair to qualify for the next stage of the Champions League from Group F.
