Tottenham Hotspur captain Harry Kane is reportedly set to request a transfer away from the club should they miss out on Champions League football this season.

The North Londoners are enduring a frustratingly inconsistent campaign under Jose Mourinho and sit seventh in the table and three points behind the top four at the time of writing.

They have won just one out of their last four matches in all competitions, as well as having lost six out of their previous 12 games in the league.

Should that form continue and Spurs miss out on a place in the top four for the second season in a row, Kane is set to request a transfer away according to The Athletic due to his preference of playing at the top level and ambition of challenging for major trophies.

It is reported that a move away though is not going to be easy. Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has no intentions to sell his star man whatever the price, whilst Kane still has over three years left to run on the most recent contract that he signed in North London.

In his time with Tottenham, Kane has scored 217 goals in 328 matches in all competitions and sits second in the club’s all-time top scorers list behind only the great Jimmy Greaves.

As it stands, Manchester City are the favourites to sign the striker next season, with Pep Guardiola’s men available at odds of 4/1 with William Hill.
