England boss Fabio Capello decided to leave Steven Gerrard and Rio Ferdinand out of the squad for the final Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro.

England sit six points clear of their next opponents, who have a game in hand, meaning that Montenegro can overturn the Three Lions from the first place if they beat them in Podgorica and bring maximum points from the final game in Switzerland.

Fabio Capello’s side, therefore, need to bring at least one point from Montenegro, but they are 1.82 (41/50) with 188BET to end the campaign with a win.

The Italian coach has opted against risking Steven Gerrard and Rio Ferdinand, as the pair still lacks match fitness, meaning that Gary Cahill and John Terry are set to continue their defensive partnership.

Bobby Zamora and Scott Carson return to the squad, but Jermain Defoe and Joleon Lescott have been left out.

England squad:

Goalkeepers: Scott Carson (Bursaspor), Joe Hart (Man City), David Stockdale (Ipswich).

Defenders: Leighton Baines (Everton), Gary Cahill (Bolton), Ashley Cole (Chelsea), Phil Jagielka (Everton), Phil Jones (Man Utd), Micah Richards (Man City), John Terry (Chelsea), Kyle Walker (Tottenham).

Midfielders: Gareth Barry (Man City), Stewart Downing (Liverpool), Adam Johnson (Man City), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), James Milner (Man City), Scott Parker (Tottenham), Theo Walcott (Arsenal), Ashley Young (Man Utd).

Forwards: Darren Bent (Aston Villa), Andy Carroll (Liverpool), Wayne Rooney (Man Utd), Danny Welbeck (Man Utd), Bobby Zamora (Fulham).
