Gary CahillChelsea defender is unhappy with his current position in the team and is considering his future at Stamford Bridge.

Telegraph reports that the England international has told his friends he was thinking about leaving Chelsea in order to get more playing time, despite the fact he is unlikely to be given the green light to leave the Blues in January.

Lack of first-team football has left the central defender frustrated and worried about his place in the England national team ahead of the UEFA Euro 2016.

Guus Hiddink has so far mostly relied on the defensive duo of Kurt Zouma and John Terry, leaving the 30-year-old Cahill on the substitutes’ bench for most of the time this term.

Cahill has so far made 12 appearances in the Premier League and the experienced defender believes his chances of making the cut in the England squad would be enhanced by leaving Chelsea.

Former Bolton Wanderers centre-back, who was transferred for Chelsea in 2011/12 season, only signed a new four-year contract at the start of December, but has since then went on to start only two Premier League games and one under the new manager.

His position at Chelsea could be made even worse in the final days of the transfer window when his club Chelsea are expected to complete the shock signing of a relatively unknown New York Red Bulls defender Matt Miazga.

The 20-year-old is already on his way to England, according to Telegraph, as he had already left the US national team training camp to sign a deal with the London-based club.

Miazga’s transfer is believed to be worth £3.5 million and he should be announced in the next couple of days.

The young defender will be the second Chelsea signing in just few days’ time as the Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato has already arrived in London for a loan until the end of the season.

Chelsea are working hard in the January transfer window in order to improve their position in the Premier League. Blues currently sit in 13th place, ten points behind Manchester United in fifth.

Hiddink’s troop travel to Vicarage Road at the beginning of February for their Premier League match against Watford and are given the odds of 2 (1) @888sport to claim the maximum three points from the fixture.
