Sunday’s early kick off in the Premier League sees Everton welcome Chelsea to Goodison Park, with the winner guaranteed to start 2013 in automatic Champions League qualification place.

The hosts have lost just once in fourteen games, and go in to the game on the back of their 2-1 win over Wigan Athletic on Boxing Day.

Darron Gibson and Seamus Coleman could feature after recovering from their respective injuries, but Tony Hibbet and Kevin Mirallas remain side-lined, and Marouanne Fellaini completes a three match ban.

Croatian striker Nikica Jelavic is 8.0 (7/1) with Bet Victor to get the first goal of the game, whilst Steven Piennar, who has two in his last four outings, is generously priced at 19.0 (18/1) with the same firm.

Despite their fine form, especially in front of their own fans where they are still yet to taste defeat in the league, the Toffees are outsiders at a best price of 3.3 (23/10) to get the three points, with Chelsea favourites at 2.62 (13/8) with Bet Victor. The draw is 3.0 (2/1) with Stan James.

The visitors followed their 8-0 hammering of Aston Villa last weekend with a much more modest 1-0 win at Norwich City last time out.

Midfielder Ramires is set to return to the starting line-up, though the game has come too soon for Captain John Terry.

Fernando Torres has fourteen for the season so far, and is 7/5 (13/2) favourite with Bet Victor to score first, whilst Juan Mata, who is just one behind his fellow countryman following his winner on Wednesday is 9.0 (8/1) with the same firm.

Everton have had the better over Chelsea in their meetings on Merseyside in recent years, with three home wins and a draw in their last four encounters.

Last season’s corresponding fixture finished 2-0 to the hosts back in February, with Chelsea winning at Stamford Bridge four months earlier – the Londoners only victory in the last eight attempts against David Moyes men. However, Rafael Benitez is unbeaten in his last seven league games against Everton, all as Liverpool boss in the Merseyside derby.
