Premier League side Everton have moved to confirm that star midfielder Ross Barkley is almost certain to leave in the summer transfer window.

The England starlet has another year left on his contract and he refused several very good offer from the Toffees as he appears to be looking for a new challenge.

“We made a good offer of a contract. He declined,” manager Ronald Koeman said.

“Ross told me at the end of the season he wanted another challenge.

“His personal situation is really not so difficult. My priority is not Ross, with respect, it is his decision. I look more to other players. I knew this at the end of the season.

“Everyone knows what the situation is and that’s enough, I don’t talk any more about this.”

Everton plan to replace Barkley with Gylfi Sigurdsson, but they recently had a £40 million bid for his services rejected.

The Toffees take on MSK Ruzomberok in the Europa League third qualifying stage tonight and they are 2/5 for a half-time/full-time win.
